Did you know? This owl is native to Hawaii and is declining rapidly in numbers especially on Oahu where they were once prevalent. The Pueo is now considered an endangered species. They nest on the ground and their eggs are often eaten by the introduced Mongoose. They also hunt at night and are attracted to car headlights which they dive toward and are killed by.
